ASOS Goodies! First impressions and swatches.

Evening lovelies :)
I was kindly asked by the PR at ASOS if I would like some products to use in tutorials etc and of course accepted! So for the first time in what feels like forever, the postman actually knocked on my door this morning, I greeted him somewhat bedraggled and with last night's black eye liner smooshed around my face (this is a regular occurrence since I ran out of LE cleanse and polish!) and restraining myself from screeching in his face, took my little brown box of joy and tore into it faster than Charlie and Grandpa Joe with a Wonka bar!! (honestly, the lack of shopping just lately has sent me wappy!)

Inside the box was a Jemma Kidd Classic couture lip colour, Stila Perfect and correct foundation, and a NARS velvet matte lip pencil.eeeeeeeek!!
(please excuse the dodgy photo, the sun was so bright today!)
Stila Perfect & correct foundation

You might already be aware that I am always looking for the next best thing when it comes to foundation, so when I opened this one and saw the unusual, funky helter-skelter style way that the foundation is presented in the transparent bottle I had to let out a bit of a squeal! There are a number of claims on the side of the box that made me extra excited to use this, like how it helps to control oil while still keeping skin hydrated, and is swirled with an advanced moisturising primer, something I have never seen before! Also this foundation does not contain an SPF so I am really looking forward to seeing how well it photographs.

There are 6 colours to choose from, my shade is medium, from swatching it I think the colour is too dark for my natural (NC20-25) skin tone but with some self tan I should think it will be just fine, also when blended it appeared a touch lighter. I will keep you posted on this one.

This is the first Jemma Kidd product I have ever owned, I have to say, loving the packaging, bright pink box and a sleek black tube with hot pink print makes a (sad) package hoarder like me v.happy! The colour I received is 06 retro a deep warm brown shade, and not something that I would ever pick for myself, but it will come in handy I'm sure when creating Autumn make-up looks. The lipstick itself is highly pigmented, gives a gorgeous glossy finish (oh and it smells amazeee!)

To be honest anything that comes in a NARS box excites me! This bright almost neon peachy pink is gorgeous! I was going to pop up a lip swatch for this but my lips are so dry at the moment, that I know I will have to get the blistex and an old toothbrush on them before it's worth even attempting to wear anything matte. This was released as a limited edition colour for Summer but I just checked and you can still get it at asos.I can see me using this alot, so expect to see it on my face soon ;)

Haul:from Naked for £1... to Chanel badness!

I have been a busy bee this week, i've gone from doing virtually no shopping to the point of having withdrawels ( I kid ya!) to finding myself shopping on two separate occasions and in the mean time the postie has dropped off parcels full of goodies that I ordered a week or so ago!

First up I took a trip into Savers, I'm not sure if these shops are all over the country or not,and to be honest its a shop which I seem to forget about for some stupid reason as there are so many amazing bargains to be had, from household products to top perfume brands!! Here's what I picked up...

1. Naked 'be smooth' cocoa butter body cream
2.Imperial leather foamburst 'shower and shave'
3.Revlon Nail polish 'peach smoothie'

Can you believe these 3 products total came to £3.29???

The whole 'Naked' range is £1 in savers!!! I nearly died!!!!

Next I popped to Superdrug to check out the 'Avoir la peche' range from Sleek, but aside from the eyeshadow palette's which to be honest doesnt float my boat, had all sold out :( I did swatch the 'Pan tao' blush and 'sugar may' lip polish and really need to find them at some point!!

In my disappointed state I mooched around and picked up these beauties!!
1.MUA Lipstick in shade 04 (LOVE this it's a very sheer pink and tastes like sherbert)
2.Barry M Nail paint in 'mushroom'
3.Barry M Nail Paint in 'blueberry'
4.GOSH 'holographic' nail polish
5.Barry M Lip Gloss shade 104 ( I cant stop applying this!)
6.Collection 2000 'Big fake' mascara (Ive heard so many good things, I cant wait to try this out!!)

The second shopping trip of the week, which I will be totally blaming my Mum for,as she wanted me to go to Primark 'Pyjama shopping!' with her..."hmmm...OK!!'
To be honest, Primark and the rest of the high street clothes shops pretty much sucked for me this week All I picked up was a pair of Knickers and a couple of vests which I wont bore (or gross you out!)  with pictures of ;)

So what happen's when Clothes shopping royally disappoints?? We hot foot it to Boots of course! Unfortunately for me at the top of the escalator are the beautiful bright lights of the Chanel counter!....and the results of that are...

A totally random purchase, I was actually not planning on buying foundation for a while, but I don't have a compact that I like at the moment and the lovely SA applied this over the 'Sheer glow' foundation that I had applied that morning and it just made my face look luminous and refreshed! Also when you run out you simply repurchase the pan at £26 which saves you £8,SOLD wrap it up it's a Bargain!! :)

And in the post...

I ordered these eyelashes about 10 days ago from allcosmeticswholesale.com they only cost me around £3 for both pairs,!!! They don't come with glue but who uses the crappy glue that usually comes with false lashes?

And Last but not least,my order from the ASOS/Groupon deal came this morning!!

1.NARS 'Belize' Lip Gloss
2.yes to carrots 'cotton candy' lip tint

I picked up NARS 'Belize' lip gloss which is a definite 'my lips but better' shade, perfect for lazy, 'mouching about' days. I also got a 'yes to carrots' lip tint in cotton candy which to be honest has disappointed me by tasting like mint! and not having much tint at all! saying that these two products only cost me £12.50 so I am chuffed to bits!

Phew,so that was my week! I will post up some reviews of these products soon :)
I will definitely not be buying anything for a few weeks I'm even tempted after this lot to join the beauty bloggers that are doing project 10 pan *ponders this for a minute* hmm...we'll see!!!

I hope you have all had a good one my lovelies and have been enjoying the random sunshine in the U.K! Speaking of which where the heck has it gone??

NARS Enchanted creme blush-peachy perfection for summer nights

I am no different to anyone else and am completely embracing the peach/coral craze for spring 2011! As we speak I am wearing a Coral lipgloss by GOSH and Barry M nail polish in what else? 'coral!!' I literally cant get enough of it and was on the lookout for the perfect peach creme blush, as the ones I have are pinks and plums (the plum colours i tend to mix with lipgloss and wear on my lips as i find them a bit dirty looking for my face at times!)
So searching through ASOS beauty shop I stumbled upon the NARS section (ok I went straight to NARS! Its my latest obsession!!)  and checked out their range of creme blushes there were three that caught my eye out of the five colours these being :

Cactus flower-shimmering poppy (looks stunning, but is out of stock atm and I have a very similar MAC one)Lokoum-Rose coral with shimmer. And finally...Enchanted-Soft peach with Gold sparkle.I picked enchanted, as it's so different to any creme blushes or in fact regular blushes that I have, and had high hopes for it and how it would sit very nicely on my Holy Grail NARS sheer glow foundation and add the 'glow' onto my cheekbones that weirdly 'sheer glow' doesnt (I dont love it any the less for this error in product naming!!!) see my review hereHere's the blurb..'Creme blush by NARS featuring a rich, moisturising creme formula with a velvet texture,
the pigmented blush offers a sheer sweep of colour for a natural, luminous look.'

sounds promising!!

First impressions

Upon opening I was immediately loving the colour, which is what I can only describe as a sunset peach,It reminds me of a yummy cocktail that you might have on holiday or indeed a beautiful Greek (I love Greece, enter personal preference here) sunrise.

As you can see I have really given this blush a fair trial over the weekend!

The swatches

Heavily Swatched

Regular swatch on the left and blended on the right

As you can see it's an absolute beauty of a peach creme blush and very well pigmented.
What you cant see from the images above is the gold glitter that runs through this
blush, which is actually alot more apparent than I expected it to be and transfers like crazy if you go OTT on application. Definitely a creme blush more suited to finger application so as to keep the product concentrated on the area's you want it or you will end up looking
like a disco ball!
(Yes this was my personal experience! eek)

I have worn this blush both day and night and find the gold glitter to be far to much for
daytime wear although in the evenings it looks fantastic when the light hits!!
In my opinion this is definitely an evening blush that would be best worn on tanned skin and
depending on whether glitter is your thing or not!
I will definitely be wearing this over the summer months when I have more colour and
have learned the phrase 'light application!' off by heart!

Check out the NARS Creme blush range here

ooh and also please excuse the erratic text in this post,I think it's something to do with cutting and pasting text from ASOS I have tried to put it right but its just not having any of it :( xxx

Clothes & jewellery Lust!

I have recently accumulated a number of discount codes for my number one online shop (actually number one shop ever!) ASOS mainly the £5 off a £20 spend ones through Diet Coke (another addiction of mine!) So I have been spending a lot of time over at shopping heaven buying various bits of Make-up

What I got...
LORD&BERRY Liquid eyeliner pen which I really like,it makes applying a top line very easy, goes on very opaque in one quick sweep and the packaging is uber sleek! one small downside is that it does smudge on the outer corner of the eye if you tear up so no soppy films! But I will definitely be purchasing more products from this line in the near future. view the LORD&BERRY Collection here

NARS Sheer Glow Foundation- If you read this blog often or follow my tweets you will more than likely want to  tape up my typing fingers,Yes ok I Love this,in my opinion ITS.THE.BEST end of.. my review here

NARS Lip gloss in scandal-sadly the swatch on ASOS was not even close to what came in the post I was expecting a coral/pink colour but its more a cherry red...actually i did just check back and it is described as cherry red so thats my fault for not reading the description box eeek! Lesson learned but its a nice colour non the less. Scandal Lipgloss available here

What I'm Lusting after...

I'm really obsessing over this cheesecloth Bandeau Maxi dress it comes in 3 colours (Black, white and green) and I would love the black and white ones to see me through spring/summer..There are just so many ways to accessorise a dress like this and i'm loving that it's a petite maxi being a real life gnome at 5'2".
This dress is also available for normal sized people and in the maternity range

I am undecided on this top it has been on ASOS for a while and I cant decide if I should purchase it or not, what do you guys think?

I didn't realise that my lust list was so dress orientated!! I must be even more excited for spring/summer than I thought. I do love simple designs though and this sundress is just perfect in my eyes. It also comes in Black and White and is a steal at £25!

These People tree Multicoloured hoop earrings are in my saved items along with the black Bandeau dress, ready to be shipped to my ears!! I think they are so pretty and will add a fab injection of colour to any plain outfit!

the same goes for these People tree bangles...

Sooo cute!

And finally...
I'm not normally a fan of Gold Jewellery,I don't think I would ever buy a piece of really expensive gold but I fell for this ring in a big way! The intricate design and peach coloured stone really sell it too me its just stunning!

Anyway I'm feeling like this is one of those overly self indulgent posts, please note I haven't bought these items (yet) I will be making sure to drink plenty of diet Coke to get the discount codes so that I can justify spending the money,in fact i have one in hand as we speak!! wouldn't it be great if we could just add them all up then spend the total
*wide eyes and a big stupid grin*

ooh also I am in no way affiliated with ASOS it's just a huge love of mine :)

Do you have any of the items on my Lust list?
What have you got on your on your spring/summer Lust list?

Dear ASOS..Will you be my valentine?

OK I'm sure im not the only girl who is having a personal love affair with ASOS, I'm most certainly not the only beauty blogger...in fact 'ASOS payday haul' could be our mantra!!

The ASOS Beauty shop was introduced in 2005 and is a constant 'go to' of mine for the latest must have products...from low priced (quality) cosmetics like Barry M and Rimmel to the high end (dream) products such as Illamasqua and Rodial.

A recent discovery of mine is the RMK range,a cosmetics line that originated in Tokyo in 1997.

RMK products fall in a similar price bracket to brands like Benefit and NARS,(mid/high).

So in case you are not familiar with the line I am going to share with you a couple of my favourites from RMK's spring/summer 2011 range.

Ingenious powder cheeks and ingenious Gel eyeliner

The first is the 'Ingenious powder cheeks' blusher, which comes in a range of 4 colours

  • Light pink
  • Strawberry pink
  • Holographic pure coral
  • ROSE
I chose the rose shade as my kit was lacking in really bright cheek colours,I thought this would be my best option and it looked like such a perfect colour for valentines make-up.

loving the high pigmentation!
Straight onto cheek from finger with no blending
Blended using a large blusher brush
All in all I love this blusher, aside from the mini brush that comes with it, which isn't a fault of the brand, more a case of my own personal opinion on teeny, tiny brushes being pointless unless you are doing your make-up on the go.

The second of the RMK ingenious products i want to share with you is the 'Ingenious gel eyeliner'
Available in 3 colours:
  • Deep Blue
  • Deep Brown
  • Black
The colour that i have is Deep Blue, its a really fabulous colour that is so deep its almost black, I already have a black gel liner hence my colour choice here, now that i have used it though i do wish i'd opted for black to replace my old 'sleek' one which frankly pales in comparisin to this baby!!
Ingenious Gel Eyeliner with double ended retractable brush/smudger
This eyeliner is super smooth, glides on like a dream, waterproof and claims to be smudge free, well after washing and scrubbing the swatches that I did on my hand, I can 1million percent back this claim up! This bad boy is going no-where without a good going over from an eye make-up remover!!
Believe it or not these swatches have been scrubbed to death in hot soap and water!!

Another great thing about this product is the brush that comes with it,it's the only Gel liner that i have ever used that has this added extra.
The brush is retractable and double-ended with a smudger aswell as a brush.
Ok £19.50 for a 3.5g pot may seem a bit on the expensive side but when you compare it to MAC's fluidline which is £13.50 for a 3g pot and an extra £14.00 for the brush, I'm sure we can unite in justifying it as a bargain! (You know how we do girls ;) )
Well that was my 'ASOS payday haul' (seriously can we get a trademark on that!)
Has anyone tried these products or anything in the RMK range? Please let me know below x
