Friday Favourite- YSL Black Opium

I rarely buy perfume for myself, mainly because I wear the same one (Thierry Mugler 'Alien') 90 percent of the time but a couple of months ago while browsing in Boots my Mum led me over to smell this assuring me it was the most amazing scent ever.

There is a saying 'Mum knows best'.....

This had to go 'straight in my basket' ;)
Seriously it is stunning, the base notes are vanilla, the top notes black coffee and the heart notes white florals which combined make it so unusual and so beautiful! A sweet yet sexy feminine scent that in my opinion is suited to both day and night time wear, if i had to pick I'd say that as there is a slight heaviness to it (though not overpowering a la the original opium) it is probably a more night time appropriate scent.

I can't finish without giving a tip of my hat to the bottle, .... Black sparkles and Rose Gold, thank you YSL my dressing table totally appreciates the packaging porn!!!

My accidental project 10 pan

I really admire all of the bloggers taking part in a project 10 pan challenge,if you aren't familiar with the concept its basically where you must use up 10 (or whatever number you choose) products before allowing yourself to purchase new make-up items. For a much clearer explanation check out Vivianna and Yu's blogs.

Now I haven't quite plucked up the courage to take the plunge and do a pan challenge myself (Yes, courage is the correct word!) but after posting my 'Much loved in March' post last week I noticed that in one of my MAC palette's I had not only hit pan on a couple of colour's but completely wiped them out, and it got me thinking what other products have I managed to do the same with??

MAC lipsticks 'Blankety' and 'Lovelorn'

Blankety was my first ever MAC purchase and I think this is my 4th tube LOVE it!!

MAC eyeshadows 'Retrospeck' and 'Nylon'

I think I got my money's worth out of Retrospeck! Im suprised I haven't worn a hole into the pan!!

Stila lipglaze 'Banana'

This was my ultimate Nude lipgloss I used to panic if it was running low as I had to travel over an hour to get a replacement.

YSL 'Faux Cils' mascara

Check out that brush! Dry much? How long have I hoarded this empty tube??

Lancome 'Hypnose' mascara

An amazing mascara! One that I haven't repurchased but I will do.
I definitely recommend it!

Two faced 'Lash injection' mascara

I didn't rate this as much as I thought I would, just tube hoarding here!

MAC Face and Body foundation

A must have foundation for me. I have repurchased this every year for the summer as its so light and dewy

Viktor and Rolf 'Flowerbomb' and Thierry Mugler 'Alien' perfumes

My 2 favourites it was no hardship using these baby's up!!

Aside from the MAC products which will go back to MAC for my free lippie (Im thinking either Vegas Volt or impassioned) I have no idea why I have saved so many empty products, maybe to remind myself to repurchase or maybe im just a complete weirdo hoarder who will end up  surrounded by empty old tubes of mascara and perfume bottles in my old age *shudders* whatever the case may be I think I deserve a shopping spree after finishing all of these products...It's been so hard! ;)

Have you done a Project Pan, for real or accidental?

What's the value of your Make-up bag?...

Source
According to research carried out by Debenhams the average British woman carries a whopping £265 worth of make-up in her handbag!Their research was based on women carrying 13 items averaging £20 each.

Well no offence intended here but if the average british woman shopped at debenhams for all of her make-up then yeah i can totally see this being true, but im not convinced the 'average' british woman does and why would she when its always more convienent to pop into superdrug and get a trolley (ok, I know they don't do trolleys....they should though!) full of amazing brands such as Barry M,MEMEME,and GOSH !

This did get me wondering what's the content value of my make-up bag...

(This post was planned pre pro lumire so i wont include it.)

Bourjois Healthy mix foundation £9.99

MAC face and body foundation (for a mixer) £23.50
(Paid £15.25 because of MAC pro discount)

VIE glowing beauty highlighter pen £12.75

MeMeMe blush me! £8.50

MeMeMe Correct and perfect concealer kit £6.99

Rimmel lash accelerator mascara £8.99

Barry M Supersoft eye crayon £4.59

YSL Touche eclat £25.00

Bobbi Brown lipgloss £14.50

TOTAL WORTH... £114.21
TOTAL ITEMS... 9

so my everyday make-up bag worth and item count ranks alot lower than the average woman according to the research from Debenhams, even if i had the average 13 items and *each additional item cost me £20 I would still be £70 lower than average!!,although it is still a pretty pricey bit of kit to be carrying around with everyday especially when you think that my camera cost nearly £30 less than that, maybe its worth looking into some insurance....

* You could get two Ombres perlees de Chanel with that! Maybe I should consider joining the ranks of the average woman!!!!!

Bad influence Beauty Bloggers

I wasn't planning on doing a post today due to being slightly hungover and full of greasy food and mini eggs!!!
But after spending the day laying on the sofa reading every beauty blog i possibly could (you know when u fit from link to link?)
I am feeling inspired to (lazily, sorry) share a list of new found wants...

YSL TEINT RESIST
I have actually wanted this for a while..i have a box full of magazine cut outs with tips and cute pics called 'Fordys fab box' (sad but true) and this foundation is in it.Thanks to this blog post by the fabulous Charlotte, this foundation is back on the list.....
So is this one...
Nars sheer glow
Again thanks to Charlotte @ charlottes obsession's foundation search post I have yet another foundation to add onto my very long list of wants!! I must do a post on all my foundations I've actually lost count of them but it's my fave make-up item ever its not my fault really!

Urban decay Alice in wonderland book of shadows
I've been desperate for this for a while, but seeing Charlotte @ lipglossing's breathtakingly stunning pictures of the Alice palette, the lust has been well and truly rekindled!!
If anyone knows where i can get this from without forking out nearly £100 on ebay I would be massively grateful!! x

The Charlotte's are officially bad for my bank balance
(great for my face though so meh!)

OPI Pirates of the carribean polishes
I'm not massively into nails as i don't have any of my own and normally wear falsies, but i'm a big sucker for cute product names! ( I would lovea job naming products) I saw these on The beauty scoop last week, and rather fancy 'sparrow me the drama'.

Topshop eye crayons
The swatches and description provided by Georgina at make-up wishes were enough to convince me that I need to add these to my eye crayon collection ASAP!

And the BIGGEST bad influence award goes to...
ME!

Obviously It's nigh on impossible to peruse the internet without a spot of ASOS'ing......

Two faced 'lash gasm' Mascara

URBAN DECAY POCKET ROCKET  Lip gloss  (James)

I'm really loving these especially the fact that there are 9 shades, each of which has a man's name and a l'il man in it's lid CUTE AS HELL!!!!!!!!!!! I'm rather fond of James and Kirk, and wondering if they might be named after the guy's from Metallica!?
There is also one named Timothy, which is my Dad's name so i might get it my Mum for Mothers day.

Ok I'm gonna stop now,I dont want to appear too greedy!

HAS ANYONE GOT ANY OF THE ITEMS ON THIS LIST?
PLEASE TELL ME ABOUT THEM IN THE COMMENT BOX BELOW!!
