Have Primark nailed it?!

My nails suck, big time! despite never being a nail biter or one to partake in much manual labour (lolz) I find that my nails grow just to the tips of my fingers, then get all peely and break, so about 80% of the time since I was 14 or 15 I have relied on false nails. I really wouldn't like to sit and tot up how much money I have spent on what are essentially little squares of plastic over the years...so when I spotted (get it!) what I think are a new range of nails in Primark for £1 I was all over giving them a go!

Hmmmm....so I feel a bit tight saying that I was "disappointed" in anything about these nails, I mean they were a pound so that would be an over exaggeration, buuut after the second day the design had started to wear off, by the fourth a couple of them had snapped across the top and by day 7 they were looking very shabby indeed, which, if I had spent the 7 or 8 pounds that I usually would on a pack from Boots I would have been pretty miffed about so these nails definitely fall into the "you get what you pay for" category in terms of quality.

With all that said, and not liking to sound negative especially against my beloved Primark I'm imagining that these nails have been designed for the purpose of nights out and the like which they are most definitely fabulous for... so yeah Primark, you nailed it kinda ;)

My latest favourite Nail polish combo!

Hey Girls,
So as this is a combination of polishes that are a) brand new and exciting and b) one that I have painted my nails with twice in one week, which to me is when I know that I have found a new favourite! I thought I would share with you what I have been loving to wear on my nails for the past week...
L-R NYC Expert last nail polish Lights, camera glitter (105) and Barry M Mint Green (304)

Lights, camera glitter is my first and only bottle of NYC polish and I don't really know too much about the line if im honest. This particular polish is clear, with silver glitter running all the way through it and larger pieces of Blue and Purple glitter that spread out randomly when applied giving each nail a unique appearance which I really like :) I find that it needs a couple of coats to get a nice amount of the larger glitter pieces onto the nails as on occasion I have had just one or two pieces apply to my nail and I definitely prefer a few more than that.

Good old Barry does it again with another beauty of a polish!! I dont think I own a Barry M polish that I dont like, in fact every time I pick up a new one its always my new favourite! Mint Green is no exception! A beautiful pastel Green which is perfect for the warmer months, applies opaque in two coats and although I was kind of hoping for an Essie Mint candy apple dupe (which I think leans a little more blue) I am chuffed to bits to add this to my Barry collection and am sure that I will get through this bottle by the end of the year as its just delish!

What are your favourite Barry M polishes? And has anyone tried any of the other NYC polishes?

ooh also I was tagged by the lovely Hannah to do the 50 random questions video so if you would like to see that you can check it out here  :)

Sunday blues NOTD

Firstly I'd like to say Happy mother's day to my amazing Mum :D Love you! xxx

This weekend has been a flu filled nightmare for me all in all but I woke up feeling a little better this morning and decided that although I couldn't really face putting on a full face of make-up,(just a sweep of teint innocence compact foundation and a coat of collection 2000 'Big fake' mascara for the purpose of feeling human) I needed something a little brighter on my nails....
Hellloooo Barry M Blueberry!

2 Coats and a seche vite top coat

This polish is actually opaque in 1 coat but I decided to layer on another for intensity. It's a gorgeous vibrant 'sky blue' colour which applies (as all Barry M polishes do) wonderfully and dried nice and quickly with the help of the seche vite.

Its hard to believe that something so small can cheer us girlies up eh?

What products cheer you up on poorly days?
