Superdrug 3 for 2...

A few weeks ago as I was driving to my parents house minding my own business I noticed that the elusive One parking space outside my local Superdrug was empty....this never happens...I took it as a sign and pulled over without pausing to think A.do I have any money? and B.do I need anything?
The answer to both questions was yes which in the case of A was fortunate!

Realising it was 3 for 2 across all cosmetics and Clearly feeling the need to bring Summer back into my life that day I purchased the Bourjois colour boost lip crayon in "Peach on the beach" Barry M hi shine Gelly nail paint in "Blueberry" and Collection cream puff in "Fairy cake."

As you can probably tell my lips have started to get dry now that the cold weather has hit and the macro setting on a camera doesn't help matters so I am preferring the balmy texture and glossy finish of the Bourjois pencil over the matte finish of the Collection lip cream right now, although the cream puff's are always a big love of mine especially for the bargain £2.99 price. Both however feel moisturising when applied, the cream puff "sets" and emphasises dryness throughout the day whereas the Bourjois lip crayon continues to feel comfortable and moisturising.

Nail wise, I love how there has been so much more choice on the high street in the past couple of years and have been guilty of taking good old faithful Barry M for granted, bypassing it to coo over Essie and Models own, but I had to come crawling back tail between legs when I was in my tiny town's teeny Superdrug as they have not quite made the leap into bringing in the big guns! Very happy I am with my polish of choice though...Blueberry has been on my nails for the past 2 weeks...I always get bored of my nail polish colour after about 5 days but I have actually taken this off and reapplied a fresh coat that's kind of a big deal, you go Barry!

Have you taken advantage of 3 for 2?

My latest favourite Nail polish combo!

Hey Girls,
So as this is a combination of polishes that are a) brand new and exciting and b) one that I have painted my nails with twice in one week, which to me is when I know that I have found a new favourite! I thought I would share with you what I have been loving to wear on my nails for the past week...
L-R NYC Expert last nail polish Lights, camera glitter (105) and Barry M Mint Green (304)

Lights, camera glitter is my first and only bottle of NYC polish and I don't really know too much about the line if im honest. This particular polish is clear, with silver glitter running all the way through it and larger pieces of Blue and Purple glitter that spread out randomly when applied giving each nail a unique appearance which I really like :) I find that it needs a couple of coats to get a nice amount of the larger glitter pieces onto the nails as on occasion I have had just one or two pieces apply to my nail and I definitely prefer a few more than that.

Good old Barry does it again with another beauty of a polish!! I dont think I own a Barry M polish that I dont like, in fact every time I pick up a new one its always my new favourite! Mint Green is no exception! A beautiful pastel Green which is perfect for the warmer months, applies opaque in two coats and although I was kind of hoping for an Essie Mint candy apple dupe (which I think leans a little more blue) I am chuffed to bits to add this to my Barry collection and am sure that I will get through this bottle by the end of the year as its just delish!

What are your favourite Barry M polishes? And has anyone tried any of the other NYC polishes?

ooh also I was tagged by the lovely Hannah to do the 50 random questions video so if you would like to see that you can check it out here  :)

April Favourites x

I thought April had 31 days...is the song not 30 days have September, August, June and November?? Obviously not! hmmpfff!
Anyway enough of my terrible knowledge of the days of the month and on to the good stuff, the products that have made me feel good in April!

Eyeshadows
The 4 E/S that I have used the most throughout April have all been by MAC, they are...Naked lunch, Woodwinked, Shale and Painterly (paint pot) as a base. Woodwinked is a staple favourite, I have loved wearing it over painterly for a summery bronzed look. I have also worn Naked lunch alot, either on its own with a couple of coats of mascara when I don't have much time, with a flick of black liner or as a base with Shale as a simple daytime smokey.
TOP-Painterly PP
L-R Naked lunch, Shale, Woodwinked
L-R Painterly PP, Woodwinked, Shale, Naked lunch

Lipstick
Im surprised to say that out of the new lipsticks I purchased earlier in the month, the one I have reached for the most is Angel from MAC,I have used it almost daily. The reason Im surprised is that it is a frost finish (probably one of my least favourite lipstick finishes) but it doesn't seem to have that finish on me, it's actually a lovely creamy pink that really suits my skintone.

Nail polish
This is another one that surprised me, I don't know why as it is loved by so many, I suppose i've never really been a pink nail girl! It's Barry M Pink flamingo..Its such a bright (neon in certain lights) Pink which I cant stop looking at when I have it on! I even re-did my nails with it when it began showing tip wear, and ended up wearing it for 10 days straight which is something I don't normally do as I get bored quickly.

Blush
Without a doubt April's most used blush has been NARS Deep throat, I haven't even looked at another blush all month, see why here.

Hair
I gave up the straighteners a few months ago, favouring either a tonged curl or a loose messy wave, but for the past few weeks I have really been enjoying straightening my hair again with GHD's. I have been finding that I love the sleek look and the fact that my hair doesn't tangle as easy as when it's curled. My Boyfriend really loves the messy look, but its not him that has to drag a brush through a mass of bushy knots at the end of the day is it?
And the prize for owning the oldest, most knackered pair of GHD's in history goes to........
Boring Bits and Bobs
Imperial leather foamburst shower and shave is a godsend, Im surprised that there don't seem to be very many products on the market that do the same multitasking job that this does.
Now that summer is approaching and the weather is warm enough to wear open toed shoes, pretty feet are a must, so I have spent alot of time on mine and used my Ped-egg to get rid of any unsightly rough skin.

I hope you enjoyed my favourites, What have you been loving in April?

A l'il FOTD

Hey girls, firstly I'm chuffed to bits that my blog has reached almost 200 readers! Thanks so much everyone im really grateful! Another thing I would like to say is that as it is the school holidays and my son is off for a fortnight ive found it hard to spend as much time on my blog and feel that my last couple of posts were a bit rushed and not as well organised as I would like them to be, so thank you for bearing with me!  :)

Anyway enough gushing! On to the FOTD...

Products used:
 Chanel Pro Lumiere foundation
MAC MSF natural medium plus
MAC MSF soft and gentle to highlight cheek and brow bones
Nars Deep throat blush
MAC Paintpot in painterley on lower lid
MAC Woodwinked eyeshadow on lower lid
Barry M brown eyeliner pencil on top and bottom waterline and top lashline
Loreal Telescopic mascara
MUA brunette brow pencil
MAC Hue lipstick

I have been really loving Pro Lumiere foundation (which is typical because it is being discontinued!) for the past couple of weeks as my skin has been pretty normal as opposed to its usual dry state, I haven't been drinking any extra water or eating extra healthy so im putting it down to using the Liz Earle hot cloth cleanser, the Oilatum dry skin repair cream, and VIE clear thoughts night cream which is so thick and moisturising, I cant believe i have never used a night cream before. I feel like my skin has been really benefiting from all of these things. Does anybody else use a night cream?

Anyway that was a bit of a quick ramble but I hope you like it :)
I will be doing a review of Nars Deep throat blush soon as im in love with it <3

This week's Haul!

I was expecting to be posting a MAC haul today, but after having a bit of a sesh on the old cocktails last night for my bestie's birthday,I was really not up to shopping today :( boo! So I thought I would share with you what I have picked up from the shops this past week...
I have been Nail polish obsessed lately! Can you tell? ")

First up, the OPI pretties!!

L-R 'Not like the movies' from the Katy Perry collection,
'Teasy does it'
and 'Bring on the bling' from the Burlesque collection

There is a really cute shop near my house that sells loads of OPI and the girl twisted my arm into getting bring on the bling *cough*

Next the China Glaze Beauts!
L-R 'Meteor shower' and 'Bad Kitty'

I have been wearing Bad Kitty on my toes this week (I'll spare you a picture) and I absolutely love it, its a really pale pink with multicoloured glitter, its so girly and perfect for Spring!

Drugstore diamonds...

L-R Barry M basecoat,topcoat and hardener
Barry M 'Pink flamingo'
Gosh 'Groovy grey' special edition

Im wearing Groovy Grey now and love it! I had to pick up Pink flamingo after seeing it on a couple of blogs its such a fab bright pink,I cant wait to try it out. Expect about a million NOTD posts soon ;)

The other little bits I picked up

Lee Stafford sea salt spray

I was so excited when I found this in Boots the other day as my hair always looks its best when I'm on holiday, so the idea of this spray thrilled me massively!! I tried it out yesterday and it does exactly what it says on the tin so to speak. It also lasted all day without hairspray!

Beauty UK Metallic sparks eye crayon (green)

I already have the purple one of these pencils and absolutely love them. They are super soft and highly pigmented and are a really easy way to get a smoky eye that looks like you have spent ages on. Brilliant price aswell I think they are about £2!

MUA green mascara

I was reading about how coloured mascaras are making a comeback and how wearing them on the top of your lashes gives a fab subtle flash of colour,I thought Id go for the cheap option first and get an MUA and see how I go.I haven't tried it yet but I will let you know :)

Have you been shopping this week or used any of these products?

Sunday blues NOTD

Firstly I'd like to say Happy mother's day to my amazing Mum :D Love you! xxx

This weekend has been a flu filled nightmare for me all in all but I woke up feeling a little better this morning and decided that although I couldn't really face putting on a full face of make-up,(just a sweep of teint innocence compact foundation and a coat of collection 2000 'Big fake' mascara for the purpose of feeling human) I needed something a little brighter on my nails....
Hellloooo Barry M Blueberry!

2 Coats and a seche vite top coat

This polish is actually opaque in 1 coat but I decided to layer on another for intensity. It's a gorgeous vibrant 'sky blue' colour which applies (as all Barry M polishes do) wonderfully and dried nice and quickly with the help of the seche vite.

Its hard to believe that something so small can cheer us girlies up eh?

What products cheer you up on poorly days?

Much Loved in March

So as the end of March is already upon us (seriously,it'll be christmas soon!!!) I thought Id post a round up of the items that I have been reaching for the most this month...

Eye shadow
The ones I have been wearing mostly this month are 'woodwinked' and 'sumptuous olive' by MAC.Both effortlessly wearable, they also look great when applied together or with 'sumptuous olive' as a contour colour.

Highlighter
I have been using MAC 'Vellum' eyeshadow as a cheek highlighter.I also apply lightly over my cupid's bow to add definition to my lips.

Lipstick

This month I have worn MAC 'chatterbox' lipstick more than any other shade,an amplified creme finish, it's non drying, long lasting and I love the instant bright look of it when applied full on,straight from the tube.

Lip Gloss

I haven't actually been wearing as much Lip gloss as I normally wear this month,as mainly I have been pairing a more subtle eye with bright lips and cheeks. If I have picked out a gloss it's been the Barry M bubblegum pink shade. Why does Barry insist on not naming his Glosses? Come on Bazza!!

Blusher
Check out the rim of the Pan to see how much I have been wearing this!!
(I've only had it about a month!)

Without question my most recent favourite is Sleek blush in 'pixie pink' I'm kind of ashamed to admit that I did originally pick it because of the name! But now I can hand on heart say that it is my new number 1 blush!

Mascara
Still loving the 'One by One' Mascara by Maybelline review here.

Eye liner

RMK gel eyeliner 'Deep Blue'. I love the colour of this liner as from a distance it looks black but is actually a deep royal blue which looks great against brown eyes without being too 'in your face' for daytime wear.

Tan

Garnier summer body gradual tanning lotion.
I love everything about this tan, from the bright yellow sunshine-y packaging to its fresh summery scent! It gives me a light, even tan in one application, but I do like a bit more colour (basically I wanna look like J-lo!) and usually apply it 2-3 days consecutively for my personal tastes. The colour is my idea of tan perfection and never leaves my skin feel grubby as I find it does with some self tanners! Does anyone else feel like that or is it just me?

Perfume

At the moment,I only have one bottle :'( which is Angel by Thierry Mugler. I do usually have more but for some reason I just haven't been willing to stump up the cash.I did pop into Boots last week with the intention of buying Vivienne Westwood's 'Naughty Alice' but it was way too sweet for me,It smelled almost exactly like Kenzo and very similar to guerlain 'insolence'.
I think my next purchase will be Armani code or Lancome 'Poeme' which I haven't had for years, but spritzed myself with it on the above mentioned trip to Boots, and the scent lasted all day, which is something I don't find happening too often!

Nail Varnish

If you read my last post, you will be aware that I purchased Chanel 'Black pearl' Polish yesterday, so this is now my Ultimate favourite ! But other than that I have mainly been wearing Barry M 'Dusky Mauve' which is an absolute awesome dupe for Chanel 'Paradoxal' I would definitely recommend saving yourself £15 and picking up the Barry M over Chanel.I'm also loving Barry M Pastel and coral shades on my toes now that the British weather has got it's act together!

Phew rather a long post there!!
What has been much loved by you this month?

Haul:from Naked for £1... to Chanel badness!

I have been a busy bee this week, i've gone from doing virtually no shopping to the point of having withdrawels ( I kid ya!) to finding myself shopping on two separate occasions and in the mean time the postie has dropped off parcels full of goodies that I ordered a week or so ago!

First up I took a trip into Savers, I'm not sure if these shops are all over the country or not,and to be honest its a shop which I seem to forget about for some stupid reason as there are so many amazing bargains to be had, from household products to top perfume brands!! Here's what I picked up...

1. Naked 'be smooth' cocoa butter body cream
2.Imperial leather foamburst 'shower and shave'
3.Revlon Nail polish 'peach smoothie'

Can you believe these 3 products total came to £3.29???

The whole 'Naked' range is £1 in savers!!! I nearly died!!!!

Next I popped to Superdrug to check out the 'Avoir la peche' range from Sleek, but aside from the eyeshadow palette's which to be honest doesnt float my boat, had all sold out :( I did swatch the 'Pan tao' blush and 'sugar may' lip polish and really need to find them at some point!!

In my disappointed state I mooched around and picked up these beauties!!
1.MUA Lipstick in shade 04 (LOVE this it's a very sheer pink and tastes like sherbert)
2.Barry M Nail paint in 'mushroom'
3.Barry M Nail Paint in 'blueberry'
4.GOSH 'holographic' nail polish
5.Barry M Lip Gloss shade 104 ( I cant stop applying this!)
6.Collection 2000 'Big fake' mascara (Ive heard so many good things, I cant wait to try this out!!)

The second shopping trip of the week, which I will be totally blaming my Mum for,as she wanted me to go to Primark 'Pyjama shopping!' with her..."hmmm...OK!!'
To be honest, Primark and the rest of the high street clothes shops pretty much sucked for me this week All I picked up was a pair of Knickers and a couple of vests which I wont bore (or gross you out!)  with pictures of ;)

So what happen's when Clothes shopping royally disappoints?? We hot foot it to Boots of course! Unfortunately for me at the top of the escalator are the beautiful bright lights of the Chanel counter!....and the results of that are...

A totally random purchase, I was actually not planning on buying foundation for a while, but I don't have a compact that I like at the moment and the lovely SA applied this over the 'Sheer glow' foundation that I had applied that morning and it just made my face look luminous and refreshed! Also when you run out you simply repurchase the pan at £26 which saves you £8,SOLD wrap it up it's a Bargain!! :)

And in the post...

I ordered these eyelashes about 10 days ago from allcosmeticswholesale.com they only cost me around £3 for both pairs,!!! They don't come with glue but who uses the crappy glue that usually comes with false lashes?

And Last but not least,my order from the ASOS/Groupon deal came this morning!!

1.NARS 'Belize' Lip Gloss
2.yes to carrots 'cotton candy' lip tint

I picked up NARS 'Belize' lip gloss which is a definite 'my lips but better' shade, perfect for lazy, 'mouching about' days. I also got a 'yes to carrots' lip tint in cotton candy which to be honest has disappointed me by tasting like mint! and not having much tint at all! saying that these two products only cost me £12.50 so I am chuffed to bits!

Phew,so that was my week! I will post up some reviews of these products soon :)
I will definitely not be buying anything for a few weeks I'm even tempted after this lot to join the beauty bloggers that are doing project 10 pan *ponders this for a minute* hmm...we'll see!!!

I hope you have all had a good one my lovelies and have been enjoying the random sunshine in the U.K! Speaking of which where the heck has it gone??

What's the value of your Make-up bag?...

Source
According to research carried out by Debenhams the average British woman carries a whopping £265 worth of make-up in her handbag!Their research was based on women carrying 13 items averaging £20 each.

Well no offence intended here but if the average british woman shopped at debenhams for all of her make-up then yeah i can totally see this being true, but im not convinced the 'average' british woman does and why would she when its always more convienent to pop into superdrug and get a trolley (ok, I know they don't do trolleys....they should though!) full of amazing brands such as Barry M,MEMEME,and GOSH !

This did get me wondering what's the content value of my make-up bag...

(This post was planned pre pro lumire so i wont include it.)

Bourjois Healthy mix foundation £9.99

MAC face and body foundation (for a mixer) £23.50
(Paid £15.25 because of MAC pro discount)

VIE glowing beauty highlighter pen £12.75

MeMeMe blush me! £8.50

MeMeMe Correct and perfect concealer kit £6.99

Rimmel lash accelerator mascara £8.99

Barry M Supersoft eye crayon £4.59

YSL Touche eclat £25.00

Bobbi Brown lipgloss £14.50

TOTAL WORTH... £114.21
TOTAL ITEMS... 9

so my everyday make-up bag worth and item count ranks alot lower than the average woman according to the research from Debenhams, even if i had the average 13 items and *each additional item cost me £20 I would still be £70 lower than average!!,although it is still a pretty pricey bit of kit to be carrying around with everyday especially when you think that my camera cost nearly £30 less than that, maybe its worth looking into some insurance....

* You could get two Ombres perlees de Chanel with that! Maybe I should consider joining the ranks of the average woman!!!!!
