EOTD: Autumn trend/Graphic lines

Hey Girls,
Yesterday I got my subscription email from In style magazine, which had a section on Autumn/Winter eyeliner trends, one in particular caught my eye (geddit eye haha.Small minds!) It was a trend used in the Louis Vuitton A/W 2011 ad campaign in which the models wore a stroke of liquid liner drawn freehand in the inner corner of the eye.

This afternoon I had a bit of spare time, so as always when this happens, I sat on my bedroom floor with my make-up and entertained myself, kind of like a toddler with a packet of crayons. I purchased a few Sleek palette's a couple of weeks ago and hadn't really had much chance to use them, so as the weather has finally decided to get in the right season I went with the sunset palette which has some gorgeous colours in it that really scream Autumn. I think the LV eyeliner trend must have settled it's self into my subconscious because after I had finished applying the winged liner my hand was kind of drawn into the inner tear duct area and was happily drawing a line there aswell...

The Sleek Sunset palette

Anyone for a bit of extra forehead? Crop fail :(

On the one hand it's a bit cheeky to call this an eye of the day as I haven't been out around town wearing this look, however on the other it's so on the money as I only did the one eye and am still wearing it. I have to pop to the local shop now, I wonder if the one eyed make-up look will go down well...I'll let you know ;) xxx

'Acid eyes' using the Sleek Acid palette

Hey girls,
Haha I know 'Acid eyes' just sounds wrong! But I thought it was perhaps the best way to describe this crazy eye look that I came up with using the Acid palette!
As I only had one Sleek palette in my make-up collection, which is the 'Oh so special' palette (which I love using!)Yesterday I decided it was time to immerse myself fully into the world of Sleek and went to town to pick up a couple more.

Fortunately (for my boyfriend, who's debit card I used) Sleek palette's are pretty inexpensive because I showed little restraint and slammed 3 into my basket (Sunset, Acid, and Original) oops! My justification for this (to the boyf) was that it would cost nearly £400 for the same amount of eye shadows in MAC and he should think himself lucky that there isn't a store close to where we live, so I got off the hook. Phew. hehe ;)

Anyway enough of my wittering and onto the make-up.

Eeeeeeeek! How insanely bright are these colours?? I love this palette so much and had so much fun playing around with it last night. I love that it also includes more wearable shades, so that it isn't made redundant when you don't feel like sporting acid bright's!

I also made a video on my You Tube channel so if you are interested in this palette or how I did this look then pop on over :)
Do you own the Acid palette?

Playing with the Sleek Oh so special palette

Gateaux all over lid
Noir blended over Gateaux
Celebrate in crease and outer V
Noir smudged under lower lashline
Gateaux in tearduct and lower lashine

Hey girlies,
as the title suggests, I have spent part of the afternoon playing with the Oh so special palette from Sleek (the rest of the afternoon was spent coming up with a catchy post title ;))
The Oh so special palette is actually the first palette (aside from the primer palette) that I have purchased from Sleek, I have no idea why this is, and I'm pretty sure that I must be the only beauty blogger/MUA in the UK not to own at least the storm palette!
I knew that I wanted the Oh so special palette as soon as I set eyes on it and I do really like it, it has a great mix of matte and shimmery neutrals with a couple of gorgeous matte peach shades also included, which I used for the next look...

Ribbon all over lid
Organza blended into crease
Glitz smudged into upper and lower lashlines
Bow to highlight brow bone

Gateaux is my favourite shade from the palette, it's a really pretty duo chromatic soft peachy pink with gold sheen, in the first look I did where I layered noir over it, the gold really shows through and turns to a metallic olive shade when the light hits, I love it!
There are a couple of colours in this particular palette that don't rock my world ie.The mail and boxed which is just personal taste and why I didn't use them today (well actually I did, but hated the look so haven't added it hehe) But aside from that I am looking forward to picking up a few more Sleek palette's soon.
Which Sleek palette is your favourite?

Blush crush #3

I do love me a Sleek blush, Pixie Pink was my first blush from the range and admittedly I originally purchased it because of the name, pretty lame I know but I will always be a sucker for a cute name and packaging regardless of what crappy product may be inside. Fortunately Pixie Pink doesn't fall into the great name, crap product category, in my opinion it is delicious! Here look.....

Swatched (left) and blended (right) on my freshly St.moriz'd arm

At first sight it looks a bit garish and to be honest it is a little brighter in real life than these pictures are showing. It's the kind of blush that you could do some serious clown cheek's with, should you so wish to!
Halloween idea's aside, with a light handed application Pixie Pink adds a really pretty, flush to the cheeks which for a matte hot Pink looks surprisingly natural even when my (NC20) face isn't tanned. With a tan it looks stunning either blended out for a pretty natural flush or built up for more impact.

This is definitely a blush I recommend having a play with the next time you visit a Sleek stand, don't let the thought of dolly cheeks scare you off, it really is a beauty!

Blush crush #2.

Sleek Rose Gold...What a job I had getting my hands on this! Every Sleek stand I visited for 3 months greeted me with the same empty rack of this blush colour. Eventually I managed to get my hands on one in Blackpool on a weekend away last month, hooray for the Vegas of the north, and it's fully stocked Sleek shelves!!
I think a lot of you will know the reason for the elusiveness of Rose Gold is because of its comparability to the infamous NARS 'Orgasm' blush and for a fifth of the price.

Rose Gold is peachy/pink with Gold shimmer which transfers onto skin as a sheen rather than chunky glitter, which looks amazing with a tan but also works well on lighter skintones.Highly pigmented and finely milled, a light hand is required when applying this as a little goes a long way!
I can't see myself purchasing NARS 'Orgasm' while ever Sleek continue to produce this blush <3

Which blush are you crushing on?

July Favourites

Oooh its been a long time since I clicked on that "new post" button!! Without putting you all to sleep I will explain why, I have been without a laptop charger since my last post (over a month ago) which at first wasn't too much of an issue and I kind of enjoyed being free from my computer screen and living a kind of caveman-esque lifestyle but this past week I have missed my little blog so much that I forked out a friggin ridiculous amount on a new charger this afternoon so that I could be reunited with it *hugs blog*
Well as it's the end of July a favourites post seemed fitting to get me back into the swing of things so here we go.

MAC Mineralize skinfinish natural-Medium plus

I am generally not a powder girl, as my skin type is normal/dry I really love my face to have a dewy finish. When the sunshine graces the UK with its presence however I do feel the need to add powder on top of my foundation to keep it in place that bit longer. I love this powder as it manges to set foundation into place without over mattifying and keeps my skin looking really natural.
Chanel Vitalumiere aqua
I am trying to wean myself off Chanel Pro lumiere in case the rumours are true and it is going to be discontinued later on this year *sobs* So a few weeks ago I popped to the Chanel counter and got samples of all of the foundations to see which one could replace my beloved.Luckily I have fallen for this foundation completely! It is gorgeously light-weight but gives alot more coverage than I expected and a gorgeous flawless finish.Expect a full review soon.
Lee Stafford Sea salt spray
I seriously cant tell you how much I love this spray!!! I've used it so much just lately to create the beachy style hair that I can usually only get from being at an actual beach! There are 2 ways that you can use this, either spray on towel dried hair and then blow dry which I have found makes my hair feel sticky and gross afterwards for some reason, or spraying on towel dried hair and leaving to dry naturally which really works it leaves my hair soft and with the most perfect beachy waves which stay put all day! The smell is also uh-ma-zing its love!
VO5 miracle concentrate elixir with argan oil
I have wanted to jump on the argan oil bandwagon for a while now but have been too much of a cheapskate to part with the cash and pay for a higher end brand. So when I spotted this in superdrug reduced to £2.99 (I think the rrp is £4.99) I chucked it in my basket and hoped for the best. Turns out this is actually bloody amazing stuff! I thought that this would make my hair feel greasy and weighed down but it really doesn't even when I go a bit crazy with application! It's fantastic to use on wet hair as a leave in treatment or as a serum which is how I use it after I use the sea salt spray to get the ends of my hair (which actually need chopping off!) looking nice and smooth.
Urban Decay Naked palette
I don't think I need to explain why this became a favourite from the second I opened the lid and set eyes on those beautiful colours!! I picked this up about 6 weeks ago and have used it every day since as the combinations are endless.Definitely worth the £30 splurge! My favourite colours are Sin, Naked, Half baked, Toasted and Hustle.
OPI nail lacquer- Skull and glossbones
This is one of the 4 colours from the Pirates of the carribean miniature set which I bought a couple of weeks ago. I really only picked it up because the packaging was so cute (sucker!!) and tbh wasn't expecting much from this colour, however it is now my new favourite polish, it's a lovely pale creamy grey which in certain lights leans towards an eggshell blue shade. I am definitely going to try and get my hands on the full size bottle as I can see me running out of this one fast.
MAC lipstick-Hue
I lost this lipstick a while ago and my boyfriend found it under my car seat, I think he thought I was a little bit mental when I grabbed it off him shouting "Yay, you found Hue" he thought I had named it Hugh haha! Anyway Just lately my daily make-up has mostly been bronzed skin and a smoky gold eye so I love to wear a simple nude lip. This is definitely my favourite nude in my collection as it is so easy to wear, I love the glaze formula for being the happy medium between a lipstick and a gloss which leaves my lips feeling moisturised and non sticky.
So those are the products I've loved over the past month
Is anyone loving any of the same products? let me know my lovely's :)

Sleek True colour Lipsticks: Heartbreaker and Coral reef

If you are heading to Superdrug this weekend, I totally recommend heading to the Sleek stand and checking out their new range of true colour lipsticks. I popped in earlier this week, I think on the day they were released, after reading about them on dainty dollymix and deciding I needed 'Coral reef' oh so badly!!! Much to my delight I found that they were on offer at 2 for £6 and had about 30 seconds to decide which other shade out of the 20 *OMG 20!!* I wanted as it was half 5 and the staff were hovering around me like buzzards, foot tapping and watch checking (fair enough but grrrrrrrrr!!!) Anyway I picked up heartbreaker as you can tell by the post title "/

L-R 'Heartbreaker' and 'Coral reef'

The True colour lippies come in 2 formulations, sheen and matte, Heartbreaker is a matte hot pink and Coral reef a sheen and the most perfect bright coral. Both highly pigmented and long lasting, I wore Heartbreaker to work and after 5 hours and no reapplication my lips were still bright but it had worn to more of a stain. As its a matte, if you suffer with dry lips as I do, a layer of carmex or lip balm of that type helps it not to accentuate dryness.

The sheen formula of Coral reef is alot more comfortable to wear, while still being highly pigmented and long lasting, I love this colour and it feels really moisturising aswell which I like! I think I will be purchasing a few more of these finishes from Sleek, there are a couple of gorgeous pinks and nudes that I have my beady eye on!!

The whole range is available in Superdrug and on the Sleek website

Have you picked up any True colour lipsticks?

Kim Kardashian made me do it!! Chanel Black Pearl!

Ok I was going to let any desire for this beauty of a Nail polish pass me by,I mean I have really never been a massive nail polish obsessive (until recently!) and although I am admittedly somewhat of a spendthrift, spending £17 on one nail varnish is not something I have ever done before and seems like a crazy amount of money to fork out on one small bottle of polish!

But as the title says...this frivolous purchase was not entirely my fault, ooooh no it was not! After watching 'Kim and Kourtney take New York' ,I noticed Kim wearing it in a couple of episodes and it just looked so gorgeous that I couldn't get it out of my head, anyway I had a couple of hours to kill in town this afternoon while my dog was being hacked at the groomers (they literally scalped him!!!) So I took the plunge, So actually Teddy is to blame aswell as Kim ha!

I literally couldn't get it on my nails fast enough..and here are the results...

Defo needing a manicure by the looks of my cuticles so close-up!! But that aside,I am so happy I purchased this! It applies like a dream is opaque in two coats and each coat dries in less than 5 minutes!
I also now feel one step closer to becoming Kim Kardashian haha!

A couple of other purchases I made today which I have no one to blame other than myself for!!

1. Sleek Pan-Tao Blush from the Avoir la peche collection
2.MUA Lipstick- shade 7
3.Sleek Pout Polish- Powder pink

And the swatches...

L-R
Sleek Pout Polish-Powder pink
MUA Lipstick-Shade 7
Sleek Pan-tao Blush

Im really pleased that the Pan-tao blush was back in stock at superdrug today as I was so gutted after swatching it last week when I found that they had ran out! Anyway these few little goodies will be keeping me happy for a while.
Im obsessed with Sleek and MUA at the moment especially the lipsticks and Blushers in peaches and pinks!!

What have you been obsessing over lately??
