Xmas Party IOTD: Feline green

Hey girls,

Firstly that's not a typo in the title, Of course I was going to name this post EOTD but I felt like a bit of a fraud doing so as this is not a look that I have being sporting for the whole day also sadly I am not attending any sort of Xmas party shenanigans this evening, oh no, its a True blood sofa fest with my boyfriend up in here tonight!

So the IOTD was born (Idea of the day) wow Im a pioneer! ;) 

Type-torial (pioneer I tell ya ;)) 

*Apply black kohl pencil over lower lid concentrating on the lash line (it will look messy don't worry)

*with your ring finger smudge the colour upwards to create a 'smoked out' effect that finishes just above the crease of your eyelid

*blend over with a clean fluffy brush 

*neaten edges with a cotton bud and (non oily) eye make up remover

*Dampen a flat (lay down) brush and use to apply the green pigment over the lower part of your eyelid 

*lightly blend upwards with another clean fluffy brush

*On a tapered crease brush apply a sparkly black pigment into the crease and blend

*blend the outer edges using translucent powder

*On a pencil brush mix black pigment (or e/s) with the sparkly black and apply under the lower lashes

*using a push liner brush line the upper lashline with either a black eye shadow or gel liner

*Line both water lines with a waterproof black eyeliner

*Apply two coats of black mascara, and false lashes if you have them (I didn't)

Et Voila!

Colours used

*MAC Dark soul pigment

*MUA shade 3 pigment

*Lumiere cosmetics starry night pigment

This is a very messy look to recreate, always have make-up wipes and non oily eye make-up remover soaked cotton buds handy to minimise mess (and stress) and always, always do your eye make-up first.

Also I realise that it has been getting very eye orientated around here of late, I kinda think it could be the next big thing, d'ya reckon Apple might like the idea of the iblog ;)

Review: Chanel Pro Lumiere Foundation

Hey Girls

I have a few reviews that I have been meaning to do,but felt it better to Use the products for a little while first to be able to give them a fair review.

So first up is Chanel Pro Lumiere Foundation.

I purchased this around 3 weeks ago and have worn it and used it most days.

I also used this on the last photoshoot I did.

My first impression of Pro Lumiere was good, I swatched the shade and picked it over YSL teint miracle foundation as the luminosity was a little more apparent (under the shop lighting) and that is my preference in foundations at the moment.

After wearing this product for both day and night looks,I do still like it,but do I like it as much as when I swatched it at the counter, No. The only reason for this is that I find the formulation to be heavier on my face than what I was hoping for, it feels like it sits in the middle between MAC face and body and studio fix,and I was hoping for a face and body finish with more luminosity.It also attaches itself to any dry patches that I have on my face,which is a real bugbear of mine when it comes to foundation.

The formulation is pretty fluid it does run quite quick while still being concentrated.

That's the negativity out of the way,I have to say this foundation would be amazing on skin that isn't prone to patchy dryness,and anyone wishing for that perfect middle ground coverage with a luminous finish.

I will continue to wear this foundation, mainly in the evening and when my skin is having a no flake day,but I do wish I had purchased Vitalumiere or Vitalumiere aqua after watching pixiwoo's guide to Chanel foundations, as I much prefer the lighter dewier finish compared to Pro's slightly heavier finish and formulation,and believe this to be a better option for dry skin types.

I have however just purchased NARS sheer glow (amongst a couple of other bits) and am (im)patiently waiting for the postie to drop it on my doormat,so I will let you know what I think of that in the next couple of weeks..fingers crossed the search for my HG foundation will soon be over.
