Rouge Bunny Rouge...

...Not a brand that I have ever come across either on beauty blogs or in general day to day life for that matter, it's one of those 'ooh that name ring's a bell' kind of brands, but then it's not something you ever see in Boots or Selfridges and is kind of forgotten about, so when these beautiful products came into my life after a lucky win on a give away that Glossybox held on Twitter I was really intrigued to find out more about them and why they have been hiding from me for so long...

As if it were summer still Bronzing Glow Liquid
Dazzling sip Shimmering Luxe balm
When birds are singing Long lasting eye shadow

After a lengthy googling session, it turns out that I haven't been walking around with my head in the clouds (well I have but that's pretty standard behaviour) and RBR is actually quite the elusive company in the UK and United states, it is only available to purchase on one website (Zuneta.com
However if you were to be planning a trip to, or you live in Russia, Poland or the UAE you would find free standing counters as easily as you would find MAC counters over here as from what I can gather RBR is a Russian brand.

The text with the black background below comes from the Rouge Bunny Rouge website which is most definitely the most magical, exciting and creative cosmetic website in the world and I may or may not have a strong desire to live in it...All of the products are inspired and created following the tale of Princess Rouge, a frolicsome red bunny, and the Princess' desire to turn to the enchanted garden of which she dreams into reality through the magic of make-up.
Who can blame her?

Enough daydreaming ... what was in the box?
Dazzling Sip Luxe balm in 'pinch of nude'
This sybaritic balm is inspired by the Dragon-guarded Fountains of Indulgence in the Enchanted Garden.

A very sheer pale peach shimmery lip balm which does feel pretty moisturising on the lips, however for the £22 price tag that comes with it I would definitely pass up on repurchasing this and pick up one of the (amazing looking) lipsticks for the same price instead.

When birds are singing long lasting eye shadow in 'Unforgettable Orieole'

The firefly festival is eagerly awaited all year in the Enchanted Garden. For then on this very special day, the best voices of the bird-world feed on tiny fireworks to embellish their voices and then gather to perform a single concert together. Their jubilant musical notes are inscribed in a syrup of figs and milk and preserved in tiny pots to be enjoyed all year round. Like this golden froth of musical syrup, WHEN BIRDS ARE SINGING... eye shadows are a time defying exotic enigma. This is plumage to adorn you in shades as deliciously mellow as soft silence that flows, or as brilliantly potent as jewelled notes. So addictive are these morsels that you’ll be causing your own kaleidoscopic ripples every time you wear them.

Just to go off on a slight tangent, I had to google Orieole to see exactly what might be Unforgettable about one, If you are as curious as I was click here ...Cute yes? :)

So back to business... Unforgettable Oriole is a beautiful pale gold shade with a Champagne pink undertone, which alongside the very fine glitter reflects beautifully when the light hits. The pigmentation is fantastic and the texture buttery soft which makes application and blending a dream come true!

I must admit that before writing this post I hadn't noticed the 'long lasting' part that is written on the side of the box, therefore I haven't paid particular attention to weather it is especially long lasting or not, however it does last at least as long as say an Urban decay or MAC shadow on me so around 6 hours at the very least.
Again one of these would leave a slight dent in your wallet, coming in at £22 but at least there's a mirror in the lid.

'As if it were Summer still' Bronzing glow liquid

The Order of Rouge Bunny Rouge recreated this liquid-enchantment-in-a-bottle to polish your skin to a natural, even and radiant blissed-out halo of warmth. The subtle softness of the golden micro-particles contained within its heart will burnish you to glistening silk, all laid out on a reserved bed of summer. Anoint yourself, with this delicately exotic liquid, to remind you of spinning until light-headed under the dreamy light of the sun on a mid-summer’s day. Gloriously glamorous and inexorably captivating, you’ll be transformed into a Sun Angel, even in the midst of the greyest winter.

As you can see a little really goes a long way, half a pump which is less than a little fingernail sized splodge covers my entire hand. I either apply it on the tops of my cheekbones or I mix in a small amount to my daily moisturiser which gives a gorgeous subtle glow to the skin which is always good!
This is the biggest hitter when it comes to price at an eye watering £63, although there is 50g of product here so compared to benefit's high/moon beam highlighter's which are £18.50 for 7g I suppose you could call it a good deal.

To sum up, there are definitely a couple of products in the range that I wouldn't be able to justify the splurge *cough* The £22 lip balm, but I love the quality and design of the packaging and the exquisite attention to detail in every aspect from RBR that it kind of makes me want to buy everything.Now.

MAC Monday #1 Soft and gentle Mineralize skinfinish

Last week I had one of those days where I had my organising head on, the first job to be tackled was my Make-up collection! To be fair it wasn't in total chaos but I had things in places that they shouldn't be and it was driving me to distraction. Now that everything is in it's rightful place, my mind as well as my bedroom floor is clutter free which has led me to have more idea's for blog posts! (there really is something to be said for feng-shui)
I knew that I had a fair amount of MAC goodness stashed away, some used on a daily basis, some given very little attention, so now that I know exactly what I have and where it is, as a way to give it all the love that it deserves I came up with the idea for a new series "MAC Monday" what a genius I am! *sarcasm*

First up is a beloved product of mine the Mineralize Skinfinish in Soft and gentle...

This is one of the products that I own from MAC that gets an almost daily outing, it is my go to highlight, MAC describe it as a 'gilded peach bronze' which at first glance I get too, on application however I find it to be a Champagne coloured highlight which looks peachy gold in certain lights.

Gilded goodness!!

Soft and gentle is super finely milled, it also contains an insane amount of glitter so literally the lightest of hand is needed when applying this bad boy, it will make you resemble Edward Cullen on a Summer's day otherwise ;) I usually tap the excess off of the brush before applying this which (thankfully) gets rid of most of the glitter.

One swipe

I reach for this highlighter more than any other that I own, I find it gives me the perfect, healthy glow, weather I am having a really pale day or I have been hammering the St.moriz/tropez a little bit too hard. It's multi tonal-ness makes it wearable for most skintones, to demonstrate that I tanned up one of my hands and did a bit of a comparison...

Left- Applied on tanned skin and Right- Applied on pale skin

So with that I will be off to tan up the rest of my body to match my left hand ;p

 Which MSF's are your favourites?

Review: Jemma Kidd light as air foundation

Hey Girlies,
 Happy New Year!

I have neglected my blogging duties thus far in 2012 what with the beginning of the month always being a busy time with family birthdays, I am also in the process of setting up a new business (All Make-up and beauty related YAY!) with one of my best friends so that has taken up quite a bit of time in the past week too. Anyway I have been wanting to get this review up for quite a while and a couple of you asked what I thought, so I shall quit with my waffling ways and crack on with it...

Jemma Kidd Light as air foundation

Packaging

The JK Light as air is housed in a black plastic squeezable tube, which considering that the product is priced as a higher end foundation could be a disappointment to those who prefer their packaging to reflect the price that they pay for a product.
Saying that I really rather like it, it certainly isn't going to smash in my make-up bag, and thinking about it, with the consistency being so runny, a glass bottle/pump combo would definitely have disaster written all over it.
So thumbs up for the packaging!

Consistency/Coverage

As this is a water based foundation the consistency is super runny, I find it to be the happy medium between two of my all time favourite foundations, MAC Face and body and Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua. It gives medium coverage which feels light on the skin as the name suggests

0-60 in 3 seconds!

Finish/Staying power

Upon application it appears to leave a very dewy, luminous finish. However after it settles into the skin it sets to a slight powdery finish, that said, it manages to retain luminosity and give an absolutely flawless finish.
As I have a normal/dry skin type I find that with this finish of this foundation I do not need to powder my skin at all and it will stick around all day.

Who will it suit

This is a great foundation for most skin types, however those with very dry skin should probably steer clear as the powdery finish tends to cake pretty badly on dry area's.

Colour range

There are 7 shades to choose from ranging from ultra light to dark, so there is a shade for pretty much everyone I have shade 03 light/medium (NC25-30) it is a tad dark for my natural skin tone (NC20) but I generally wear fake tan so it's not a problem and it will definitely be the perfect shade for me in the summer.

Price
RRP £25 for 30ml but is currently on sale at feel unique.com for £20 with free worldwide delivery and Beauty Bay for £19.95 with free worldwide delivery (this week only)

Another thing to point out is that even though it contains spf18
it still photographs well with flash
(I'm not too sure why I am cross eyed in this pic but hey ho ;))

Initially I did not fall for this foundation as hard as I had expected to and the reason for this was that I had been skipping out moisturiser from my skincare routine, which obviously with my skin type (normal/dry) is never a smart thing to do, and I was finding the finish drew attention to just how dehydrated my skin was!

Since I have reunited my skin with it's much needed moisture, I have finally come to adore this foundation and everything about it, it is most definitely in my top 5 favourite foundations of all time, although not even I know the order in which that list goes (I'm ever so slightly fickle you see ;))

Have you tried this foundation?
Do you wanna??
